Corporal Berg Takes a Wife
Corporal Merlin F. Berg of Co. D was united in marriage to Miss Doris Chandler of Orondo, Washington Saturday, August 15th. The ceremony was held in the Episcopal Church of Dothan at four o'clock with Rev. Madson officiating at the private double ring ceremony.
Sergeant Edwin H. Bye was best man and Miss Ethyl Gosdin of Troy was the bridesmaid.
The bride wore a turquoise blue suit with a corsage of red tea roses. The bridesmaid wore a rust dress and a corsage of red and white carnations.
Miss Chandler attended Business College in Olympia, Washington. For the past two and one-half years she has been employed in the Secretary of State's office at Olympia.
Corporal Berg was employed as a photographer in Minneapolis before he entered the service.
Lt. and Mrs. John T. Mason, 1st Sgt. A.O. Hamm and Staff Sergeant R.G. Barrett attended the ceremony.
A wedding dinner was held in Dothan after the wedding. The newlyweds are temporarily residing in Ozark.
Corporal Berg is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. R.M. Reese of Glenwood. He was born in Pope county and lived in Glenwood and vicinity until he was called into the army.
